Article (please go back to your blog post to get this information)
  • Name of Article: Be Our Guest: Major League Soccer stadium would pollute Flushing Meadows-Corona Park
  • Author: HOLLY LEICHT
  • Date of Article:  Monday, May 13, 2013
  • Site:http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/queens/guest-soccer-stadium-pollute-flushing-meadows-corona-park-article-1.1341551

  • Quote 1:  Building a stadium on this site will alter not just the site itself, but the nature of the park altogether. The footprint of the arena would be up to 13 acres, but the directly affected acreage, as defined by MLS's proposed circulation roads and pathways, would be at least double that. On game days, tens of thousands of fans travelling from Citi Field parking lots, the Long Island Railroad and the No. 7 Train would overwhelm the park, exacerbating the already significant maintenance challenges this heavily used public space faces.
    • What does the quote mean to you?
This quote sound well to me, because having a big stadium give you more courage to focuse on your play ( soccer ).  Other people who don’t play soccer, might not like the building of the stadium, because of the traffic.

How does the quote relevant to your study of the impact of neighborhood on leisure?
this quote relevant to my study by giving me more courage focus on playing soccer
  • Quote 2:
    • What does the quote mean to you?
    • How does the quote relevant to your study of the impact of neighborhood on leisure?

Closing:
  • What did you learn by doing this study? (explain the link between neighborhood and your leisure activity)
    • 1) I learn that some neighbor who don’t like soccer might be angry with maybe building a stadium in the neighborhood.
    • 2) I also learn that building stadium in neighborhoods will make much people to focus on playing soccer and also give them courage to do they best.
  • Why is leisure important in life?
I think leisure is important in life because it gives you balance to deal with your non-leisure activities.

leisure

I choose these items because that's what I really do, I don't really do all my homework, i always learn the lessons during the classes because if i come home all i know is sleep, eat, and play. I like to play PlayStation since I was young. I like to play soccer because i wish to be the best soccer player of my generation. i don't really hang out with friends a lot because of the weather ( winter time ). I talk on Facebook almost everyday because i want to talk with my friends in different countries.
Leisures make my like really go because, it help me talk with friends, relax, make new friends...
In today class i learn about leisures, that leisure time is the time available for ease and relaxation.

          • reflection
  • what are 3 things you learned while doing this project?
first I learned that social media makes us restless. second, I learn that we should not be addicted to social media. third, i learn that we could do businesses on it.

  • what do you think you did well (at least 2)?
in explanation, I give more detail in the body paragraph and i also did well in the conclusion.

  • what do you think you could have worked on?
i think i could work on the introduction, because everything is based on the introduction, if the introduction is not good, the other part won't be good.
      • SOCIAL MEDIA
If I could change anything about social media I would first create something so people can't publish videos ( porn, crime ), etc.. I would also create a software that prevent people account to be hack by crooks. I like people who always trying to unite the world without any violent ( funniest people ). I also like it because it helps you find new friends, and help you to stay close to friends all over the world. I don't like people who always trying to divide the world by racist, discriminating. I don't like when people hack another people account, every people have they own account so why don't you use yours instead of hacking others account.

Final Project Social Media

social media

Social media is the collective of online communications channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and collaboration ( Facebook, Skype, Instagram ).
It allow people to create, share or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and network

I think social media has both positive and negative effect. the positive effect is that it help people stay in contact with friends all over the world. Example, let see if you travel from to another country, you could chat with friends so you are not going to forget your friend if you go back to your country.  It also help people do businesses. Example, if you want to promote your goods ( shoes, shirt, jackets, even house...). It make you feel good. Example, some people make fun on social media even though you sad it could change your life by making you feel comfortable and make you feel proud of yourself.
The negative effect on social media is that there is a lot of crooks on social media. Example, some people lie to you, they say they have business for you but they don't. some people hack your account and post bullshit on it. Social media make us compare our live to others. it also makes us restless, because we spend 80 % of our time on it, we don't even sleep well.

As everything in life there are positive and negative sides to social media, both on which we live on. Social media makes our live easy and hard at the same time
